FAQ
What is selvedge denim? Selvedge denim is woven to produce a clean, self-finished edge — the result of a continuous weft thread that loops back rather than being cut, preventing fraying without any additional finishing. Traditionally woven on narrow shuttle looms, it's slower to produce, valued by collectors for its character, and known for developing distinctive fades over time. Most selvedge denim is made in Japan, but notable mills exist in the US, Europe, and beyond.
How do measurements work? Every listing on Slow Fades includes actual measurements — not tagged size. Waist, thigh, inseam, front rise, and leg opening are measured flat and listed in inches. We recommend comparing these to a pair you already own and love. For international buyers, 1 inch = 2.54 cm. If you have questions about measurements on a specific listing, you can message the seller directly before purchasing.
Are all sales final? Yes. All sales on Slow Fades are final — no returns, no exchanges, no exceptions for fit or buyer's remorse. Review all measurements, photos, and condition notes carefully before purchasing, and contact the seller with any questions before completing your order. If an item arrives provably and materially different from its listing, contact us at hello@slowfades.com within 5 days of confirmed delivery. This is not a return policy and does not guarantee a refund

Do you ship internationally? Many of our sellers ship internationally. Shipping availability and rates are set by each seller and will be displayed at checkout. All international shipments are shipped DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid) — buyers are responsible for any import duties, taxes, or customs fees charged upon delivery in their country. If you are unsure what duties may apply, we recommend checking with your local customs authority before purchasing.
